The Continence Care Service are based at Lower Green Health Centre.
The service is a nurse led and offers holistic assessment, advice, treatment and management of bladder, bowel and continence related issues. The service is available to adults of all ages, both male and female, within the borough who are registered to a Wolverhampton GP. The service is provided within primary care clinics, domiciliary settings, residential care and nursing homes.
The Continence Care Service also manage a home delivery service for the provision of containment aids to clients who have been assessed and require ongoing management as part of their care. The service is only able to prescribe containment products (pads) that are provided by the appointed supplier that has been awarded the contract via the tendering process. The current contract is with Ontex. All prescriptions provided are determined by evidence based clinical need.
Initial assessments may be performed via a telephone consultation or a face to face appointment dependent upon the clinical need. If the assessment indicates that there is a clinical requirement for a face to face appointment then this will be arranged, and will take place either at Lower Green Health Centre or at your home.
Children with bladder or bowel dysfunction are supported by the Children’s Services.
