The Crafty Gardener is a Community Interest Company which provides day opportunities, skills development, therapeutic, health and employment related support through horticultural, crafts, enterprise and other activities.
The organisation offers a range of group activities which are delivered across two sites –
- Glyn Bank, 13 Lloyd Street in Whitmore Reans, WV6 0RL
- Boundary Way Allotments Warstones, WV4 4NT
Both venues are not generally open to the general public unless by invitation.
Activities offered include cookery and life skills, arts and crafts, music, news teams and local project work linked to the wider community.
Most of the horticulture activities take place at our allotment site at Boundary Way in Warstones. This site provides a community setting with outside growing space and access to the sites buildings to provide undercover room for activities in poor weather.
Products that are made and grown are sold at craft and plant fairs and other organised events. This provides participants with opportunities to be involved in a range of activities, to experience new places and to meet new people.
Typical day sessions are from 10am until 3.00, days and times can be flexible and extended to suit the people involved.
Adults and young people that are referred to the Crafty Gardener day and therapeutic opportunities usually have a learning disability, autsim and/or mental health needs, and are residents of Wolverhampton or South Staffordshire.
The Crafty Gardener are also happy to discuss individual or group arrangements, get on touch with them to discuss these options.
Actvities are delivered in community venues across the Black Country, Shropshire and South Staffordshire on request.
