The SHANTI Project supports people in the Punjabi Sikh community of Birmingham with alcohol misuse. They support individuals who drink as well as family members who are affected by another person’s drinking.

SHANTI is part of the Aquarius Project who strive to help people overcome the harms caused by alcohol, drugs and gambling. They work closely with individuals, families and friends to lessen the impact caused by the behaviour of a loved one.

Who the Shanti Project Supports:

People in the Punjabi Sikh community who live in Birmingham, or who have a GP in Birmingham. Unfortunately they cannot provide support outside of Birmingham at this time.

They work with people who misuse alcohol AND family members of people who misuse alcohol.
They accept self-referrals, referrals from family members, and referrals from agencies.

Please note that if you are referring somebody, you MUST have their consent to do so. If you refer someone without their consent, they will not be able to provide support.

If you or someone you know would like more information or would like to be involved in the project, please get in touch with them through the contact details listed on this page.
