Next Step West Midlands have been established since August 2014 and have over 25 year’s experience. They are a non-profit Community Interest Company that offers a quality service for those who have varied levels of disabilities who are aged 16+.
They provide an evening group session which is held on a Tuesday’ evenings between 18.15pm – 21.15pm, and also offer buddy services, day services, residential holidays etc. From Monday to Saturday, they offer services and support for those going through a transition.
Next Step West Midlands believe disabled people should have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers, therefore offering opportunities through social inclusion. They give people scope to extend their knowledge, awareness, communication, and confidence through non-formal educational, social, and recreational activities, life skills and health and fitness. These are chosen and supported through person- centred planning and peer mentoring.
They also encourage self-advocacy, so people can advocate for themselves and express their wishes and views. They provide a regular swimming programme and run evening and day service from Fallings Park Methodist Church, Wimbourne Road, Wolverhampton.
Buddy services are pre-arranged to meet individual needs – get in touch directly to find out more about this.
