SUMMARY:Menopause and Peri-Menopause Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The workshops will run throughout Birmingham and Solihull over the next 2 years providing holistic support around hormonal health issues.\n\n\nSalus Fatigue Foundation are delighted to be working in partnership with BVSC and DRC to deliver a project to support the Department of Health and Social Care’s Women’s Health Strategy.\n \n \n \nWe will be delivering monthly workshops to support hormonal health in and out of the workplace\, with the main focus on perimenopause and menopause.\n \n \nThe workshops will run throughout Birmingham and Solihull over the next 2 years providing holistic support to assist people experiencing hormonal health issues\, to remain in and return to the workplace.  The project aims to align with the Women’s Health Strategy for health in the workplace:\n \n \n\nIndividuals feel supported in and out of the workplace\n\nTaboos are broken down through open conversation\n\nEmployers feel well equipped to support women in managing their health within the workplace\n\n\n \nThe FREE 2-hour workshops will be engaging\, fun\, practical and include a comprehensive hormonal booklet relating to perimenopause / menopause.\n \n \n \nWorkshop Content: \n \n \nYou can expect to learn about all things  Peri Menopause and Menopause. Our expert will guide you through nutrition and diet for hormones\, movement information\, sleep improvement and much more. We will also offer knowledge on the different treatment options available to you.\n \n \n \nYou will receive a free booklet to complete during the workshop and take home to continue your journey. Our ‘wheel of life’ exercise will give you a clear picture of where you are at with your lifestyle\, nutrition\, mood and sleep. Plus\, you’ll have the opportunity to ask our hormone/menopause expert any questions you might have at the end.\n \n \n \nWorkshop Benefits:  \n \n \n\nLearn new techniques and strategies to improve your hormonal health.\n\nFeel more confident\, supported and empowered to remain or return to the workplace.\n\nFeel heard\, and have access to peer support and guidance within a hormonal health community.\n\nFree booklet including daily trackers to take home.\n\nGoodie bag with lovely samples and links to relevant groups to gain further support.\n\n\n \nWhether you suffer from symptoms or just want to learn more about perimenopause / menopause\, everyone can benefit from face to face interaction. You can take the time to really listen to what other members of the group are saying and to focus on your own thoughts and feelings.\n \n \nIt also gives you the chance to make new connections with people in a similar position to you which\, in turn\, can make you feel heard and less isolated. SUMMARY:Staffordshire Diabetes Sports Day
DESCRIPTION:Meet other families with children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes from across Staffordshire. Sports events running all day!\n\n\nSports activities running all day\, including: races\, laser tag\, dodgeball and PARENTS RACE with opportunities for prizes throughout the day. Children’s sports activities for Children and young people\, provided by Time4Sport\, siblings welcome to join in and participate while parents/carers attend education sessions (Minimum age 3 to participate in activities). \nAn exciting opportunity to learn how to manage your child’s blood glucose levels during sports and exercise. Meet the ‘experts’ in the field and athletes with lived experiences of managing type 1 diabetes alongside competitive sports. As well as a Q&A panel of children and young people with diabetes\, a guest speaker and families. \nMeet other local families with children and young people with diabetes. Suitable for all ages\, bring along the whole family! \n \nM﻿eet our sponsors as well as representatives from T1D Warriors Staffordshire and Stoke and Diabetes UK West Midlands Youth Group. \nW﻿ith big thanks to our hosts St Dominic’s Priory School\, Stone\, who have provided the facilities for the days events free of charge. \nThe event will be manned by health care professionals with experience of diabetes a first aid station will be present. \nThere is a £5 non-refundable deposit per family to guarantee your place\, all proceeds will go to T1D Warriors which goes towards funding events for Children and Young People across Staffordshire.
