SUMMARY:Open Group for Punjabi Men: Connecting with Others
DESCRIPTION:This group is a part of the Cha in the City movement\, supporting inclusive conversations around challenging subjects amongst Punjabi men.\n\n\nWhat is this group about? \nThe Heera Foundation is a charity aiming to narrow the gap between psychological support & education\, and its’ accessibility. We believe that one of the key avenues towards positive mental health is through conversation and connection. Therefore\, we started open groups for Punjabi communities to connect and discuss on topics we don’t usually talk about! \nThis is an open group for those who identify as Punjabi men to engage in a discussion with others around a particular topic\, to listen\, learn\, and share. We welcome Punjabis from all faith backgrounds – Sikh\, Muslim\, Hindu\, Christian\, other faiths\, spiritualities\, and those who practice no faith or are agonistic. \nIn this session on Connecting with Others\, we will consider the following questions: \n– What does connection mean to us? What makes a good connection? \n– Are there any difficulties that we have experienced in connecting with others? \n– How do we connect with others during a difficult or stressful time? \n– How connected do we feel to ourselves? \nWho is this for? \nThis event welcomes all cis and trans men\, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experiences of men who identify as Punjabi – of all faiths or indeed no faith. It’s an open and safe space for those that want to share their thoughts or simply listen and connect. \nWhat to expect? \nEach month we will focus on a particular topic of importance and relevance. We provide a safe space to both listen or share. Our format usually involves: \n– Introductions and Group Responsibilities \n– Short Grounding Exercise \n– Breakout Discussions \n– Large Group Discussion \n– Group Feedback and Ending \nThoughts can be shared\, questions asked\, or you can simply listen – there is no obligation to share your experiences\, should you choose not to. Anonymous feedback is always encouraged at the end of the session\, so we can continuously improve the group sessions. \nIf you want to\, you can read a blog about what it’s like to attend a Cha in the City open group here.

SUMMARY:Therapeutic Sound Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Sound Meditation – Step into a sound space & rest into the vibrations as you allow them to ease the tensions of the outside world away.\n\n\nAllowing ourselves to be held in vibration\, can be the greatest gift we give ourselves… \nWhen we want to be alone\, yet long to be held in community\, when we want so much to be witnessed but stay hiding in the shadows\, when we want to remain in a circle of our own safety\, and at the same time want nothing more than to be encircled too. The sanctuary of group therapeutic sound meditation can be a wonderful place to take your own private & yet supported journey. To rest into the vibrations & let them reach the spaces that the words can’t quite come from or get to. \nIts a place you can let the ear of the body feel the resonance\, allowing it to find comfort knowing that you are held in the embrace of the vibrations\, of a safe\, free space & in the arms of an unspoken community. \n A therapeutic sound space is the perfect place to welcome rest\, relaxation & recalibration. \nAs the parasympathetic nervous system is activated\, your body\, mind & spirit can do its greatest healing & repair work on whichever level is necessary. Whether you look at this from a more linear or spiritual perspective\, it is said that you are given what you need. \nA sound space is a place for our ego to step out of the way & be guided by that subconscious force\, (whatever we believe that to be) & allow the vibration\, resonance & frequency of sound to do its work & help us as only it knows how – reaching only the places it can. \nIn Service \nSat Nam \nEmma \n🐝 🪷 🙏🏼 🤍 \nWHAT TO EXPECT… \nConnection • Community • Meditation • Deep Relaxation • Peace • Voice • Gentle Light aspect. \nWHAT TO BRING… \n• An open mind! \n• Water or fruit tea\, in a sealed container (no caffeinated beverages please!) \n• Soft comfy loose layers in case you’re too hot or too cold. \n• Yoga mat. \n• Eye pillow/mask – or something to cover the eyes really helps you to relax & drop into the space. \n• Cushions. \n• Blankets\, camping mattresses/ self inflating mattress\, deckchair padding\, sleeping bag… etc… \n• Fluffy socks. \n• Anything you need to make you feel\, warm\, comfy & cosy. \n• Journal & pen (optional). \nAny crystals that you might want to have near you or to hold whilst meditating or to wear.
